Um, hell yeah. That's what I'm talking about!

I Wish I Lived in a Land of Lipton

(Thanks to Jamie for sending this over. She knows what it's all about!)

Megan - I sympathize; there's no sweet tea to be found here in the DC area, unless you go to Chick-fil-A (which is just not the same). There's only one restaurant that serves it - an upscale place called Acadiana, which serves New Orleans/cajun fare...but it's still not the same. It's a weak, watered down version of the real thing.

This line from the article is particularly funny to me:

"Offering up a glass of sweet tea on a hot day in the South is as welcoming a gesture as passing the doobie at a Phish show."

So true. Especially in this kind of heat that we're all experiencing this week...

I saw this on msn then saw it on your blog all on the same day that I made a pitcher of tea for the first time since I moved back. I have waited to long because it sure is good to gulp it down while reading about how good it is...aaahhh

This made me so glad to be in the South. The lady I worked for in college absolutely made the best sweet tea on the planet. And since I worked at the big old white antebellum house, I could sip it in the rocker on the front porch, proper like.
