I am quite the fan of the Harry Potter books and am waiting rather impatiently for the last one to come out. Earlier this summer, the author let slip some information about the last book that had fans in an uproar. This article from msn.com addresses that issue as well as some new tidbits and speculates about both.Read.(Don't read if you have not finished #6!)Harry Potter articleDiscuss.
E is looking for last HP book too.

I am so torn! I think Harry may get it but I really, really don't want that to happen!
Snape... and... aaggghhh!
I don't think she'll kill Harry. I really don't. I mean, how much of a victory would it be if Voldemort was dead but Harry had to die, too? Maybe I just don't WANT to believe she would kill Harry.
The most interesting thing about this article to me was that it suggested that Regulus Black might still be alive. I hadn't heard that one. Hmmm. I might have to think on that one awhile.
I don't know, I can totally see her killing Harry. She hasn't really held back with the sudden deaths so far. She's endeared him so much, I can see her snatching him away now, because that would be the most emotional result. And I like the point about no one else being able to write about him if he's dead, that was interesting. I, also, had not heard about Sirius' brother or knew what the R.A.B. stood for. hmmm.
I actually disagree with the article and think Ron or Hermione might bite it. Seems like a way to pull the emotional heartstrings as she likes to do but also save our hero. Then again, if she offs Harry, these two are definitely going to live.
As for killing Harry, I have no idea. I'm with Ash - I'd like to believe she wouldn't do it. But then there's part of me that doesn't want anyone else writing about him either. Aaahhh!! Have no idea!!
I have a friend in Australia who has just begun reading HP and it's so fun to watch the addiction grow!
I am on pins and needles waiting for this book to come out. I just reread #6 for the 3rd time on Tuesday. I immediately thought of Regulas Black when I read the note in the fake Horcrux. Wouldn't Sirius be proud to find out what his brother did before his "death".
I think that Harry was originally going to die with Voldemort. They are too intertwined not to both die in the act of trying to kill the other. I still believe that he will probably die. She has been to adamant about not continuing with the series. Personally I think he should live and she should let the story continue. There will always be a struggle of good against evil. Who knows what other evil power is out there...from Durmstrang perhaps?
I don't see how anyone could still think that Snape is anything other that a follower of Voldemort. Maybe we'll learn in #7 if there was anything else that Dumbledore knew about that can clear his name, but I doubt it. Dumbledore was always commenting on Voldemort's constant underestimation about the power of love. I think Snape is Dumbledore's example of the overestimation of the power of love/forgiveness.
Have I written a book yet? O.K. enough for now. Thanks Megan for letting me air some of my thoughts and for the article to read. I hadn't seen it before.
