That'd be a purse for show and tell, ladies and gentlemen, and Lilly the attention hog
I don't know if I can formulate the words to properly describe the outfit atrocity that was Wednesday. I thought, for a very brief moment, of taking a picture of her, but decided that I didn't want irrefutable proof that I let her out of the house in such a get up. Even David commented that the combination was horrible (which, I really figured that he would be a 'whatever' kind of guy when it comes to her clothes, but oh no, he has definite opinions!).
Her stately ensemble began with an orange shirt that had a palm tree, sun and flowers on it, all in tones of pink, green and yellow. She chose a pair of pink knit shorts to go with the shirt, which I was mildy ok with, since there was pink in it. Off she goes to secure shoes (tennis shoes! we tell her, since it was muddy out) but no. A pair of pink shoes, akin to these, and blue socks.
By the time she emerged from her room and we were able to take in the full glory of her choices, we were really late and needed to get moving. David and I made a feeble attempt at 'how about some tennis shoes?' but didn't have the time or energy to fight. So off we go, and I immediately think of Granny and her mantra "She dresses herself" to explain my mom's less than desirable outfits. Perhaps I should write it on a piece of paper and pin it to that orange shirt.
That afternoon I picked her up from preschool and headed over to Target for a few things. Except that I had forgotten all about her outfit and now I'm about to go marching into public with Ella Grace, who had recently garnered a chocolate milk mustache, to boot. Fabulous! I told Ella, as we walked into Target, that I was going to have my Mommy card taken away, to which she just laughed. Perhaps I need to pin a note to my shirt that reads "I know better! But what are you gonna do?"

Too funny! I wish you HAD taken a picture, come on! I have seen some kids coming into day care and wondered if it was an intentional attempt at being cool (sometimes orange and pink can work together) but usually decide the child is totally dressing themselves and just smile, because I KNOW how it is in the mornings with opinionated, determined self-dressers. BTW Dellaina has those shoes you linked to at Target. I bought them a long time ago in a bigger size and she's still not quite in them yet, but I think they are super cute.
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" don't cha know. I shake my head at the guys and their pants that are about to fall off!
I demand you take a picture next time, if only for posterity. And future "I'm going to show it to your boyfriend" blackmail. Love that red outfit! What a cutie!
